Politician Swaps Billboard Exposure to Spare a Little Tree
During election periods, politicians often perform tasks such as visiting senior citizens and planting trees, with the intention for the news media to catch the event and generating positive publicity. How excellent and rare is it when a politician displays these unselfish acts away from the media spotlight. Our online research did not find any publicity regarding the billboard vs pine tree when preparing the feature.
Driving through Northern Portugal, we notice a political campaign banner supporting Pedro Lobo, running for town president. The politician could have quickly and effortlessly given orders to cut down the small pine tree, which obstructed his campaign billboard. Still, he chose to allow this nature’s superhero to live.
We don’t know the politician’s politics, but we know that a individuals’ dignity and worth are in what they do when no one is watching.
